Well, I made it through the first week and have a good start on the second. I think the extreme detoxification, from 60 years of bad choices is pouring out of me and has triggered my irregular heart rate. The team here is on top of this.
I have heard it said by many attendees and graduates that their health challenges are a blessing. It is true that I would not have heard from some old friends that still think of me and wish me well. I thought only I was thinking of them. Very COOL! Also, I would not have stopped to learn how to really take care of myself.
This journey at Hippocrates has been an eye opener and extremely educational and the hardest thing I have ever done. (Remember I have been through boot camp). It is not only the food and nutrition that effect our organs, it is also the attitudes and emotions. For example, anger can directly affect the liver.
Today, as I was sweating and my heart was racing, I managed to peddle my bike to my psychotherapy session. After an hour of relaxation and guided meditation, the sweating had ceased and my heart rate slowed. I felt well. After about an hour it all came back so I took the CD of my session back to my room and relaxed and listened. Again I felt better. I know it takes a little while to get permanent results, but look how long it took me to get here. I am seeing a great deal of progress.
Every process is backed scientifically, it is not some "airy fairy" fad or cult. Everything can be tested and measured and repeated and it works for people willing to commit to a life change. Well if it is life or death, I guess I can give up cheese steaks.
More later....
