The first week at Hippocrates is an orientation and training to maximize the benefits of the program. Yesterday included everything from enemas to oxygen exercise therapy. The much anticipated juice building training and the core of the program is learning about wheatgrass.
Wheatgrass is amazing! Please feel free to Google it and Ann Wigmore, the person who discovered the benefits and introduced them as a healing wonder. We primarily use the juice for a drink and an enema implant (I still have a few questions and issues about this process). The pulp can also be used for wounds and mosquito bites (which are common in this tropical environment). It has a sweet taste and is very palatable.
I met with the nurse to review my individual health background and he suggested some supplements and therapies which should aid in my healing. A few of the therapies offered are not good for folk with pacemakers, however, there are plenty that are OK.
We continued creating a balance between mind, spirit and body through a group meditation which once again brought a strong feeling of belonging and not being alone in my quest. My mental state after these meditations is so open and relaxed. The health benefits of releasing stress in my mind and body must be working, because I feel so energized afterward.
The day ended with a bout of detoxification. Ugh! I felt nauseous and very tired. I skipped the evening meal. Although they did provide a "to go" package in case I was hungry later. They are so attentive to guests needs.
Big news. I have acquired a bicycle. These are avilable to all guests and I love riding it on the trails. It feels like being a kid exploring the jungle. JOY!!!!
